Why this business was started

Annabel Kleijweg used to buy fast fashion almost exclusively herself, before the documentary "The true cost", which addresses the unethical practices and negative environmental impact of the fashion industry, shook her up. In 2016, she founded Before 7am as a sole proprietorship with the motivation to get involved and make it easy for consumers to adopt sustainable fashion consumption. This started off as a small effort, designing capsule collections from leftover materials. At that point Annabel occasionally made collars. Due to high demand and extremely low returns on this product the business eventually evolved exclusively around offering this product category.
